Introduction

Dr. Christian Pean, M.D., M.S., is an orthopedic trauma surgeon and health systems researcher based at Duke University. He serves as Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at the Duke University School of Medicine and Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence and IT Innovation at Duke Orthopedic Surgery. His clinical work focuses on fracture care, including proximal humerus and periprosthetic fractures, alongside hip and shoulder arthroplasty. He completed his M.D. at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and pursued additional training in health policy through the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, followed by an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Harvard Medical School–affiliated hospitals.

Dr. Pean is also Co-Founder and CEO of RevelAi Health, where he works on AI-enabled care coordination tools aimed at improving outcomes and supporting value-based care models. At Duke, he leads initiatives integrating artificial intelligence with population health and equity-focused care delivery, including the Duke Orthopedic Value, Health Equity, and Artificial Intelligence Labs.
